A smart home is one system, not a drawer full of apps
We design, install and look after a single integrated system for your house — lighting, locks, climate, cameras, audio and outlets — with an AI assistant that runs on hardware inside your home.
What we actually mean by “smart”
A smart bulb is not a smart home. Neither is a video doorbell, or a speaker that tells you the weather. Those are individual products, each with its own app, its own account and its own idea of how your house should work.
A smart home is what you get when those products stop being separate. One place to see everything. One way to control it. And a set of behaviours that run on their own — the porch light that knows when sunset is, the garage that closes itself, the thermostat that stops heating an empty house.
The word people usually reach for is “automation”, and it is a reasonable one. But the more useful question is how much judgement the house is allowed to exercise. A timer has none. A learning thermostat has a little. An AI assistant that hears “I'm freezing” and works out that the bathroom window has been open for an hour has quite a lot. We put that on a single line, in nine steps, because it explains almost everything about what is worth buying.
The six systems, and the seventh that ties them together
Every home we work on is some combination of these. You do not have to do all of them, and you very rarely do them all at once.

How a Chaconia system is put together
Six layers. Most companies sell you the top and bottom and leave the middle to chance. The middle is where the difference lives.
Wiring and power
What the builder left in the walls. Often more useful than people realise, and we would rather use it than cut new channels.
The network
Enterprise-grade WiFi and cabling, with your smart devices kept on their own segment away from your laptops and banking. This is the step most installers skip, and it is the one that causes the complaints.
Devices and sensors
Bulbs, locks, thermostats, cameras, leak and motion sensors. Chosen for whether they work locally, not for whose advert you saw.
The hub
A single piece of hardware in your house that everything reports to and takes instruction from. It holds the rules and keeps running with no internet at all.
The private AI layer
The reasoning. It turns ordinary sentences into actions, remembers your preferences, and weighs several of them at once. This lives on your hardware, not in a data centre.
How you actually touch it
A dashboard on a wall tablet or phone, your voice, a physical switch, or nothing at all when the house handles it for you. Every one of those routes stays working if the others fail.
Two questions worth asking any installer
These separate a system that will still make sense in five years from a pile of devices that will not.
What still works with no internet?
If the honest answer is “not much”, then your lights and locks are dependent on a cable coming into your house and a company staying in business. On the Gulf Coast that is not a theoretical concern. We build so that lights, locks, climate, scenes and sensors all keep running locally.
Where does what I say and do actually go?
Voice recordings, camera footage and the pattern of when you come and go are unusually revealing. In most setups they leave the building by default. In ours they do not, and when something genuinely needs the internet, that is a specific decision rather than the standing arrangement.

We are not tied to a single manufacturer, which means we can usually keep what you have already bought.
Where a device only works through its maker's cloud and refuses to talk to anything else, we will tell you plainly, explain what you lose by keeping it, and let you decide. Sometimes keeping it is the right call.

Questions we get asked
Do I need to rewire my house?
Usually not. Most of what we install runs over wireless protocols designed for this, or over the low-voltage wiring your builder already ran. Where new cable genuinely helps — wired cameras, or WiFi access points in a house with thick walls — we say so, show you why, and price it separately so you can decide.
Is this only for new or expensive houses?
No. A 1970s ranch house in Pearland can run a full system. Older homes sometimes need an extra access point or a different lighting approach, which we work out during the walkthrough. Financing is available for qualified customers, and starting with one room keeps the first step small.
What happens if you go out of business?
A fair question, and one that catches people who bought into a closed platform. We build on open standards and hardware you own outright. The hub sits in your house, the configuration is yours, and any competent integrator can pick it up. You are not renting your own home from us.
Will my family actually use it?
Only if every switch on the wall still does the obvious thing. That is a design rule for us, not an afterthought. Someone who has no interest in any of this should be able to walk in, press the switch, and get light. The automation is a layer on top, never a replacement for the ordinary way of doing things.
Is the AI listening all the time?
Microphones wait for a wake word before anything is processed, and with a local system the processing then happens on hardware in your house rather than being sent away. You choose which rooms have microphones at all, and you can have a full system with none if you would rather use a screen and switches.
How long does an installation take?
A single room is typically a day. A whole home is normally staged across a small number of visits so you are not without lights or heat at any point. We give you the schedule in writing with the quote.
What does it cost?
It depends entirely on how many rooms, how much you already own and what condition the network is in, so any number quoted before a walkthrough would be invented. The demo is free and carries no obligation, the walkthrough produces a written quote, and payment plans or financing are available for qualified customers.
